Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) Training
 

PACS is a system that stores digital diagnostic images, reducing the need for film and facilitating timely province-wide access to patient images and reports.

PACS is replacing existing methods of viewing diagnostic images (i.e. film & other digital systems such as EFilm) or reports in applicable sites across Manitoba. By 2011, most regional health authority sites with diagnostic imaging services will use PACS instead of film to view diagnostic images or reports.

All health-care providers who view diagnostic images or reports will need to learn how to access PACS and search for their patient’s images.
