The Lab Information System (LIS) Upgrade and Expansion Implementation is the integration of lab systems in Winnipeg facilities, improving turnaround time for many of the processes. The LIS initiative was completed in April of 2007 with the introduction of a lab system upgrade to the St. Boniface General Hospital (SBGH) and expansion of the system to the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) and other Winnipeg region hospitals. Manitoba eHealth and Diagnostic Services of Manitoba (DSM) implemented an Upgrade and Expansion with a commercially supported LIS solution (Delphic) to all laboratories within the Winnipeg region. The intent of the implementation was to improve overall access to reliable and timely lab information by integrating and upgrading lab information systems operating in Winnipeg facilities.
