| Approved Electronic Medical Record Vendor Status in Manitoba |

Updated: February 3, 2010 The process of confirming Manitoba’s Approved Electronic Medical Record Vendors from those selected through the electronic medical record (EMR) qualification process has been completed. Since March 2009, candidate approved EMR vendors have been participating in a conformance testing process to ensure that all core requirements have been met by that vendor before receiving the approval status. Approved status also requires the completion of the Master Standing Agreement with the Province of Manitoba. Once the conformance testing is complete and Manitoba has verified that all core requirements have been met by that vendor, they are named as an Approved Electronic Medical Record Vendor. The following vendors have achieved “Approved Electronic Medical Record Vendor” status:
EMR vendors are considered to be approved only until new requirements are issued by Manitoba Health and/or the conformance window for those new requirements has expired. The process to identify approved vendors was driven by requests from family physicians and RHA-run clinics that recognized the advantages of a provincial vendor qualification process. The EMR will become a vital tool to connect physicians in the community electronically to the rest of the health system.
