Trish Bergal 
Trish Bergal is the Director of Utilization with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA). Trish received her Masters in Nursing from the University of Manitoba in 1998 and has been employed in health care for 26 years.
In 2008, she fulfilled the requirements to be designated as a Fellow of the EXTRA program, sponsored by CHSRF. In 2009, Trish received her CHE designation from CCHSE.
As Director of Utilization, Trish is responsible for working with regional and facility staff in the development and promotion of a Regional Utilization Framework, including the deployment of a regional clinical decision support system, focused to improve patient flow and reduce length of stay. Trish’s clinical and leadership experience has taken place in a variety of settings including surgery, rheumatology, critical care, and emergency. Trish has presented nationally and locally on topics related to her thesis topic (Critical Incident Stress in ICU Nurses), emergency over-crowding, and on various initiatives within the WRHA related to patient flow and improved utilization.
Barbara Cranston
Barb Cranston has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Barb worked for many years as a senior Clinical Analyst in project implementations across Canada, USA and Europe and is currently the Manager of Manitoba eHealth Clinical Informatics.
Her past 30 plus years has provided a diversified and varied background in the health care arena. Barb hails from the east, where she worked as a staff nurse, Nurse Manager in Medicine and Surgery, Hospital Supervisor, acting Director of Nursing and Program Coordinator for Infection Control.
She has provided consulting services in the field of infection control and disease prevention. Barb worked closely with Health Canada on guidelines and steering committees, and helped write Health Canada’s first guidelines for Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease in Acute Care. She was involved in leading and facilitating the first Self-Assessment tools for the Quality Assurance program for the College of Nurses in Ontario, sharing this experience upon her move to Manitoba.
Barb is active in numerous health care initiatives relating to Continuous Quality Improvement, is a twice published author, has collaborated on various Leadership Councils, participated in Standards and Practice, and various other health care committees. In addition, she has developed and implemented several electronic clinical applications and has applied clinical adoption strategies throughout these implementations in the USA and Canada.
Upon joining Manitoba eHealth in March 2006, Barb began working as a Senior Clinical Application Specialist, implementing clinical applications that focus on decision support and outcomes management. She is currently the Manager of Clinical Informatics, supporting clinical applications for Manitoba eHealth and their customers
Gwendolyne Nyhof 
Gwendolyne Nyhof is a registered nurse with 20 years of nursing experience in a variety of settings including critical and acute care, long term care, clinical instruction, clinical management and project management.
Gwendolyne holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Manitoba, a Master of Science – Administration degree from Central Michigan University, a certificate in Project Management from The University of Winnipeg and the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute.
In her role as Senior Program Operations Manager at MBTelehealth, she is responsible for operations, decision support, program development and expansion, innovation and research as well as leadership in project management, process improvement, quality control and risk management.
Myrna Pachal
Myrna Pachal graduate with a baccalaureate degree in nursing from the University of Manitoba in 1976. Myrna’s employment includes 30 years at the Brandon General Hospital and Brandon Regional Health Centre.
Myrna has worked in long-term care, palliative care, day surgery, the GI unit, orthopaedic surgery and as a program educator for long-term care and surgical areas. For the past eight years, Myrna has worked as a clinical applications facilitator in electronic health records.
Myrna and her husband Doug have two daughters, one grandson and one granddaughter. Myrna and Doug love spending time outdoors in the summer, camping with their children and grandchildren. Myrna enjoys curling in the winter months.
Norm Vigier
Norm Vigier has been with South Eastman Health for 14 years. He’s held various positions, including working as a home care nurse, clinical resource nurse for the Repos Jolys personal care home, home care case coordinator and also a home care program manager.
Norm holds a background in nursing and business administration. He has been a member of eHealth Clinical Advisory Counsel (ECAC) since March, 2008.
Norm presently manages the De Salaberry District Health Centre in St. Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba. It houses 14 acute care beds and 22 long-term care beds. Norm has most recently been overseeing the implementation of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in the facility he manages.
